Van Gogh or Not!
VAN GOGH OR NOT?
Galavanting in the Streets of Toronto, I came across a painting that reminded me of a Van Gogh piece. Modern art can dictate traditional pieces but can never replace the past. I admire the use of color corals and blues to showing the distress on his face.

All Aboard!
Klaxon’s Howl Fall’11 Collection offered viewers a rugged monochromatic military inspiration drawn from the sailors and marine merchants during WWII. Circa 1940s, I was in a period of tailored pieces, utility straps, dropped pockets, and epaulettes that made a simple yet subtle statement. How I love escapism!
Matt Robinson, Creative Director/Owner of Klaxon Howl fulltime and historian part-time, collaboration with the Bay has been a smart choice for his independent business on Queen St.
The Flagship store in Toronto, offers young Canadian designers a chance to showcase their collections in a department store scene. Why not? More volume and a broader target market exposes the customer a high- low price point spectrum with the support of Canadian creativity.
Both players take a chance.
Celebrity, Samuel L Jackson even whipped up one of the Utility Jackets for his personal collection after the show.
